Paul calls both the believers and God to witness how holy, just, and blameless his conduct among them had been.

What Does 1 Thessalonians 2:10 Mean?

Paul summons two witnesses to his character: the believers who watched him daily, and God who saw even the hidden things. He describes his conduct with three words, 'holily' (devoted to God), 'justly' (right toward people), and 'unblameably' (with nothing for an accuser to seize). His life among them had been clean on every side.

It is a bold thing to call others to testify about how you have lived, and bolder still to call God. Paul can do it because his behavior matched his message. He had been right toward God and right toward people, leaving no contradiction between what he preached and how he walked. This integrity is itself part of his ministry, for the gospel is commended or discredited by the lives of those who carry it. Paul wanted the Thessalonians to remember not only what he said, but the holy and blameless way he lived it before them.
