What Does Micah 2:13 Mean?
The image is of deliverance: a Breaker goes up before the people, bursting open the gate so the flock can pass through to freedom. Their King leads the way, and the Lord Himself is at their head. The fold opens and the captives go out.
Here is rescue led from the front by God Himself. He does not merely send the flock out; He goes before them as both King and Shepherd. Christians have long seen in this Breaker a picture of Christ, who opens the way through every barrier and leads His people out into liberty, going ahead of them through death itself into life.
