Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them.

As judgment on the false prophets, God withdraws revelation: night and darkness fall, and no vision comes.

What Does Micah 3:6 Mean?

The punishment fits the sin. These prophets traded in false light, so God gives them night. No vision will come, no answer; the sun sets over them and the day turns dark. The voices that spoke without God will fall silent before the silence of God.

To lose the word of the Lord is the deepest poverty a soul can know. Those who counterfeited revelation are left with none. The verse reveals how precious genuine light is, and how dangerous it is to play with sacred things. Where the true word is despised, even the false words finally fail.
