What Does Micah 3:9 Mean?
Micah renews his summons to the leaders, and the charge is sharper now. They abhor justice and pervert all equity, taking what is straight and bending it crooked. The guardians of fairness have become its enemies.
To hate justice is to hate the very thing leadership exists to serve. When those in power twist what is right, the whole structure of society begins to crumble. The verse insists that fairness is not optional for those who lead; it is the foundation, and its perversion is among the gravest of sins in the eyes of the God who loves justice.
