What Does Philippians 3:15 Mean?
Paul calls the mature among them to share this forward-pressing mindset. As many as are perfect, that is, spiritually grown, should be thus minded, and where any think differently, he trusts that God will reveal the truth to them in time.
There is both confidence and gentleness here. Paul urges a settled outlook, the same single-minded pursuit of Christ he has described, yet he does not browbeat those who have not fully grasped it. Instead he entrusts them to God, who will make even this clear to a willing heart. This models patience with one another in growth. The aim is firm, but Paul leaves room for God to do the teaching, confident that those walking with the Lord will be led into fuller understanding. Maturity is marked not by having arrived but by leaning, together, in the same direction.
