What Does Titus 1:11 Mean?
Paul presses the point about the false teachers. Their mouths must be stopped, not by force but by sound teaching that exposes their error. They are doing real damage, overturning whole households, and Paul names their motive bluntly: shameful gain. They teach what they should not because it pays.
The mixture of false doctrine and greed is especially corrosive. When teaching becomes a means to profit, truth bends to serve the wallet, and families pay the price. Paul refuses to let such men operate unchecked. For the reader, this warning still applies. The gospel is not for sale, and those who would use sacred things for personal enrichment betray their calling. Faithful leaders protect God's people by silencing error with the truth, guarding homes from being unsettled.
