St. Joseph Catholic Church is a multicultural Huntsville parish founded by the Society of the Divine Savior in 1952 as a mission serving Black Catholics. Today, Eucharistic worship, Scripture, hospitality, children’s participation, cultural diversity, formation, and parish service shape a community that emphasizes welcome and the many gifts its members bring to the liturgy.

Weekend Mass is celebrated Saturday at 5:00 p.m. and Sunday at 8:15 and 11:15 a.m. The Saturday 5:00 Mass is livestreamed. On the second and fourth Sundays each month, Liturgy of the Word with Children is offered during both Sunday Masses, allowing young participants to engage the readings in an age-appropriate setting before returning to the assembly. Lectors proclaim Scripture and normally lead the Prayers of the Faithful when a deacon is absent, while ministers of hospitality welcome people, help participation, and represent the parish’s diverse membership; women, teenagers, and children may serve in that hospitality role.
