About this church

The Commons is an interdenominational Flagstaff church centered on the life and teachings of Jesus and intentionally open to people across faith traditions, including people who claim no faith. The in-person service begins Sunday at 4:30 p.m. inside Federated Community Church at 400 West Aspen Avenue; the Commons office on Route 66 is not the Sunday venue. Dress is casual. Services ordinarily include music treated as prayer, teaching from Scripture and lived experience, and an open Communion table. Classes for newborns through fifth grade meet during the service, with separate age environments and an emphasis on safety, play, creativity, and learning about God’s love. Middle- and high-school youth gather Thursday evenings and one Sunday each month, but the site does not publish one fixed Thursday hour, so families should confirm the current schedule. Video services are available online, and event listings should be checked for occasional off-site Sundays such as the annual campout.
