Buena Vista United Methodist Church

About this church

Buena Vista United Methodist Church worships at 10:15 a.m. Sundays at 2311 Buena Vista Avenue, with a hybrid option through Zoom. The Alameda Pet Hospital at 2275 Buena Vista Avenue makes its parking lot available to worshipers on Sundays. Holy Communion and a memorial-remembrance time normally take place on the first Sunday monthly, with a stated May exception tied to the annual Spring Festival Bazaar.

The congregation describes itself as multicultural, multigenerational, and open to all, with a mission that joins spiritual healing, relationship with God, family and heritage, diversity, service, and social justice. Sunday School and youth group are available, and a Monday-evening Bible study is listed subject to confirmation. One July worship service is ordinarily held at Crown Memorial Beach and followed by a picnic, so summer visitors should consult the current calendar rather than assume every service uses the church building. On normal Sundays, arrive before 10:15 and use the nearby veterinary-hospital lot if onsite parking is limited.
