Fairview Community Church

About this church

Fairview Community Church in Costa Mesa worships in person and online Sunday at 10 a.m., with a musical prelude at 9:45. The sanctuary opens at 9:30 for silent prayer. A typical service lasts about an hour; Communion on the first Sunday can extend it to 11:15, followed by patio coffee and snacks. Worship uses announcements, greeting, songs with projected words, reflection, responsive prayer, a sermon, and a benediction. Children remain with their households because there is no separate Sunday School or formal children's segment during the service.

Fairview identifies as open, welcoming, affirming, and non-creedal. It values questioning, freedom of thought, varied forms of prayer, gender equality, LGBTQ inclusion, and participation by people from Christian, other-faith, or no-faith backgrounds. The congregation connects worship with worker rights, environmental responsibility, marriage equality, poverty reduction, peace, and other justice concerns. Accessibility details are concrete: the facility is wheelchair accessible, the site uses a highly legible font, and electronic service materials can work with screen readers for people with visual impairments. Prospective visitors can enter early for quiet prayer, arrive for the prelude, or join online. Families should plan for children to share the full worship hour, and anyone needing another accommodation can contact the church before Sunday.
