Peace Lutheran Church

About this church

Peace Lutheran Church gathers at 10 a.m. Sunday at 3201 Camino Tassajara in Danville, celebrating Communion every week and refreshments afterward in the Gathering Hall. Worship follows an ancient liturgical order while changing its music, words, art, and tempo; the congregation describes its table as open to all. Peace is in communion with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and combines its Christian and Lutheran roots with scientific inquiry, art, contemplation, care for the earth, and relationships across faith traditions.

Beyond worship, Peace offers a labyrinth, meditation, healing prayer, spiritual direction, Tai Chi, yoga, singing-bowl meditation, and a Wind Phone for grief and remembrance. Its justice partnerships address housing, hunger, prison ministry, environmental care, human trafficking, global relationships, and LGBTQ inclusion through Reconciling in Christ. That range makes this less like a Sunday-only program and more like a spiritual-practice and advocacy community. A newcomer can begin with the one-hour Sunday liturgy and stay for conversation, or consult the events calendar for a quieter contemplative practice; because those weekday activities rotate, only the 10 a.m. service should be treated as a fixed weekly time.
