Calvary Chapel Discovery Bay

About this church

Calvary Chapel Discovery Bay meets at 10 a.m. Sunday at 1555 Riverlake Road in Discovery Bay. The congregation began as a home Bible study led by Dave and Valerie, later moved into a local school, and developed into the church now serving the area. Its stated approach is to make mature disciples of Jesus through the Great Commission, consistent teaching of Scripture, prayer, fellowship, and shared meals.

Children’s ministry serves babies through fifth grade in three age bands: babies through age three, ages three through kindergarten, and grades one through five. Teaching uses crafts and memory verses to make biblical ideas understandable and useful in everyday life, and volunteers complete a screening process before serving. Got God Youth Group welcomes students in grades six through twelve at 7 p.m. Thursday in the ministry center for worship, a message, games, and pizza. The church lists separate leaders for children and youth, while the main site offers sermons and details for men’s, women’s, prayer, and volunteer ministries. A family planning Sunday can use the age-specific children’s program during the 10 a.m. service. Middle- and high-school students have a distinct Thursday entry point, but parents should contact the ministry center before a first visit to confirm that week’s meeting and leader. Visitors comparing preaching can review published sermons before attending.
