Mt. Olive Lutheran Church

About this church

Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in La Crescenta worships Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Children remain for the opening portion and children's message, then leave for Sunday School at about 9:50. The service follows a printed order supplied by ushers, with large-print bulletins available. Worship includes a weekly exchange of peace, and the congregation advises visitors to wear whatever modest clothing feels comfortable. The air-conditioned sanctuary is wheelchair accessible, with parking in upper and lower lots and greeters ready to help.

Rooted in American Lutheran tradition, Mt. Olive describes itself as a multigenerational community learning and sharing the love of God through worship, fellowship, and charitable service. Children's lessons reflect the same appointed Bible readings heard by adults that morning, helping households continue the discussion at home. Adults can join midweek Bible study Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. or a breakfast study on the third Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Worship music includes a bell choir, vocal choir, and praise band. The church's stated welcome extends to people at different points in life and faith, making the bulletin-guided liturgy approachable even for someone who has never attended a Lutheran service. Families can begin together in the sanctuary rather than taking children to a separate class before worship.
