Renovate Church

About this church

Renovate Church in Lakewood gathers Sundays at 9 and 10:30 a.m. and noon. Renovate Kids serves nursery through fifth grade during the second and third services, while preteens and teenagers are encouraged to join main worship and attend Renovate Student Ministries at noon. Previous services are available on the church’s YouTube channel, giving newcomers a way to hear teaching before attending. The congregation states one central mission: helping every person far from God become a heart-and-soul follower of Jesus. Online connection forms cover first visits, prayer requests, volunteering, and community groups.

Renovate launched online on Easter Sunday 2020 after its pastor and his wife spent six years preparing and praying to start a church. It first operated from a small loft above a Long Beach coffee shop, then opened for in-person gatherings. In September 2021, the former West Lakewood Baptist Church gave the growing congregation its current Lakewood property. Renovate describes that unconventional pandemic-era beginning as part of a willingness to follow God without remaining on the sidelines. Office hours are Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Renovate has not disclosed nursery boundaries, children’s screening, disability accommodations, sacramental practice, student ages, service style, or streaming.
