St Mark's Presbyterian Church

About this church

St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church in Lomita starts Sunday with an adult Bible class at 9:15 a.m. Worship begins at 10:00, children’s Sunday School at 10:15, and nursery care is available around the service window. The church notes Communion on the first Sunday and a fellowship time after worship on first Sundays, giving visitors a useful sense of the monthly rhythm as well as the weekly schedule. Its worship page and Sunday guide are the best references for holiday adjustments or special services.

The congregation’s history spans roughly a century, while its current mission emphasizes an artistic, cross-generational community. One especially tangible ministry serves people in local homeless encampments with food, clothing, friendship, and advocacy. Children, families, middle-school students, and high-school students have separate routes into congregational life, and worship remains the shared center. For a newcomer, St. Mark’s offers a manageable morning sequence: adults can begin with Bible study, families can join worship together before children’s programming begins, and the first-Sunday fellowship provides a natural introduction to other attendees. Its combination of Presbyterian worship, creative identity, long neighborhood roots, and direct homelessness outreach makes the church easier to distinguish from a generic directory entry.
