The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Moorpark

About this church

The Moorpark, California meetinghouse of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 15351 E Benwood Dr is about 4.6 miles from the nearest other Latter-day Saint building, in Simi Valley. Here in Moorpark, it has a wheelchair-accessible entrance, parking lot, restroom and seating.

The Walnut Canyon Ward meets at 10 a.m., and the Campus Canyon Ward follows at 12:15 p.m., each with an hour-long sacrament meeting of hymns, prayers, the sacrament of bread and water, and talks from congregation members, plus a second hour of classes afterward, Primary included. There's no charge to attend the Walnut Canyon Ward, and no collection plate circulates. Sunday dress is common among regulars, but visitors need not dress formally at the Walnut Canyon Ward. Two wards sharing this building at staggered hours reflects how congregations are drawn geographically. Since meeting times are set locally and can shift, a quick call ahead of a first visit to Moorpark is worthwhile.
