Dancey Memorial COGIC

About this church

Dancey Memorial Church of God in Christ currently lists Sunday morning worship at 10:30 a.m. Pacific, Tuesday Bible study at 6:30 p.m., Friday prayer on Zoom at 6, and Saturday Sunday School on Zoom at 6:30. Its livestream page says in-person services have resumed at full capacity while continuing online access. That current notice resolves older pandemic-era homepage banners that alternately mention livestream-only worship and a 10 a.m. in-person start. First-time visitors should therefore rely on the live page's 10:30 schedule and confirm around holidays or special programs.

Founded in 1956 by Superintendent Joseph and Mother Plumie Dancey, the Oakland congregation describes itself as vibrant, diverse, family-oriented, Pentecostal, and attentive to justice and community service. Its mission is to empower, educate, equip, and encourage holy living through biblical principles, friendship, hospitality, leadership development, and service to the city. Public beliefs include healing through Christ's redemptive work and baptism in the Holy Spirit. The lead couple brings experience in preaching, singing, human resources, administration, Sunday School, worship, music, youth, and community service. The site does not specify service duration, musical format, Communion, water baptism, children’s schedules beyond online Sunday School, check-in or screening, dress, parking, accessibility, or hearing support.
