About this church

Holy Family Catholic Church celebrates weekend Mass at 4:00 p.m. Saturday and 7:00, 9:00, and 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Sunday at 566 South Glassell Street in Orange. Daily Mass is published for 8:15 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 12:15 p.m. Monday through Friday. Because diocesan gatherings and feast days can alter the normal Confession or Mass schedule, the church maintains a dedicated schedule page that should be checked before a special visit.

The parish began in 1921, opened its present church in 1958, and became the cathedral of the newly established Diocese of Orange in 1976. Although it is now known as Holy Family Catholic Church rather than the diocesan cathedral, its long civic and Catholic history remains visible in parish life. The community describes the Eucharist as the center of its mission and offers ministries in liturgy, music, hospitality, bereavement, youth participation, and service. Bloom, its women’s ministry, adds fellowship and spiritual growth for adult women. Visitors can choose among five weekend Masses, but should use the official schedule for Confession times and any temporary changes.
