Oroville Church of the Nazarene

About this church

Oroville Church of the Nazarene worships at 10 a.m. Sunday in the sanctuary at 2238 Monte Vista Avenue. Teenagers begin in the main gathering and move to a youth service after the offering. Holy Grounds Café opens beforehand and is operated by the youth ministry, with proceeds supporting youth and children's activities such as summer camps. The church describes worship through singing, public Scripture reading, prayer, preaching, giving, baptism, and the Lord's Supper rather than music alone.

Adult formation classes meet from 9 to 9:45 Sunday, including courses on reading the Bible deeply and studying Galatians. Life Groups gather in homes during the week to know and care for one another, grow as followers of Jesus, and serve in the church, workplace, and community. Nazarene Missions International connects the congregation with missionaries through prayer, giving, education, and recurring Crisis Care Kit collections for people affected by emergencies. The Sunday sequence lets adults add a class before worship while teenagers have their own teaching within the 10 a.m. hour. Newcomers can also use a home group for closer relationships or the café for a low-pressure introduction before entering the sanctuary.
