The Village SBC

About this church

The Village SBC worships Sundays at 10:00 a.m. at 420 East Stuart Avenue in Redlands, both in person and online. Services generally last ninety to 120 minutes and combine praise, prayer, and teaching, with Communion on the first Sunday of each month. The congregation worships together as families; a nursery room is available, and Kingdom Kids offers an age-appropriate lesson, games, friendship, and a snack for ages four through eleven during the sermon on first and third Sundays.

The church identifies itself as the Inland Empire’s oldest African American congregation, with roots dating to 1892, while emphasizing a present-day welcome across race, culture, age, and generation. Wednesday programming includes an in-person prayer gathering at 6:00 p.m. and Bible study at 7:00, with the latter also available virtually. Community life includes children’s and youth gatherings, Life Groups, and Midnight Hoopz, a supervised free program for teens and young adults featuring late-night basketball, music, snacks, and connection at the Joe R. Gonzales Community Center. A visitor bringing children should check whether it is a first or third Sunday; on other weeks, children remain in the family-style sanctuary worship.
