Community Presbyterian Church

About this church

Community Presbyterian Church worships Sundays at 10:00 a.m. in San Juan Capistrano, with every service livestreamed and recorded. The congregation describes its worship as genuinely blended, combining praise music with traditional selections throughout one service. Children age four and older may join a multi-age Sunday School that uses music, instruments, art, and Bible teaching to make the lesson relevant to daily life. Visitors can review the worship format and family options through a dedicated planning page rather than arriving without knowing whether the service or children's program fits.

The church began in 1916 when three women organized a Protestant Sunday School for the Capistrano Valley. It became Community Presbyterian Church in 1919 after meeting in a local hall that served other community purposes during the week. That origin still resonates with the congregation's emphasis on caring for its surrounding community. Prayer ministry, service, and other church programs provide paths beyond Sunday attendance. For Orange County visitors, the single blended service, reliable online archive, creative multi-age children's room, and documented women-led beginning offer a distinctive local story alongside practical details for the present congregation.
