Community Church of Sebastopol

About this church

Community Church of Sebastopol is an open and affirming United Church of Christ congregation with a traditional worship atmosphere and a progressive, exploratory approach to faith. The church welcomes people across religious backgrounds, sexual orientations, family structures, abilities, ethnicities, ages, gender identities, and expressions. Worship, formation, retreats, childcare, community service, justice work, and mutual care support that inclusive identity.

Sunday worship begins at 10:00 a.m. in the sanctuary and streams on Facebook and YouTube. The church posts an order of worship and announcement insert for remote and in-person participants. Childcare and faith formation are available during services, though the selected pages do not publish age ranges or a separate check-in hour; families should contact the church before their first visit for placement details. The congregation describes its atmosphere as “come as you are” and makes space for questions rather than requiring visitors to adopt a rigid formula. Mission and outreach opportunities put faith into action in the surrounding community, while children and youth pages outline age-based formation. Because the church also hosts memorials and community programs, the live calendar should be checked for special Sundays without confusing office hours with worship.
