The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Tulare

About this church

Tulare's only meetinghouse of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is at 451 E Merritt Ave, about 7.2 miles from the nearest other building in Visalia. Two congregations share the space: Tulare 1st Ward meets at 10 a.m., and the Spanish-speaking Tulare 2nd Branch follows at 12:15, with the building open from 10 in the morning until 1:15 in the afternoon.

Anyone specifically looking for a Spanish-language service will find it in the later Tulare 2nd Branch meeting. Both sacrament meetings run about an hour, filled with hymns, prayers, the sacrament of bread and water, and talks given by members of the congregation, followed by a second hour of classes for both adults and children. There is no cost to attend and no collection plate is passed at either service. Step-free entry, accessible parking, restroom, and seating are all in place. Since scheduling is handled by local leaders and can shift from year to year, a quick call ahead of a first visit is worthwhile.
