Christ Lutheran Church

About this church

Christ Lutheran Church offers three distinct Sunday gatherings in Visalia: traditional English worship at 8 a.m., contemporary English worship at 9:30, and a Lahu-language Lutheran service at 11. The two English services are livestreamed, with broadcasts beginning roughly ten minutes early. Children's Sunday School meets during the 9:30 service, while junior- and senior-high formation begins at 11. Nursery care for children below school age is available during both English services. The Lahu ministry began around 2004 under a refugee from Thailand, now the church's Lahu pastor, and draws about 60 people while organizing additional cultural and holiday ministries.

Christ Lutheran's wider life connects worship with small groups, preschool, youth, and local service. A men's Bible study operating for at least four decades provides two new bicycles each month to Willow Glenn Elementary students with perfect attendance and supports arts and scholarships. Women's groups combine Bible study, fellowship, prayer, and community support, including ELCA World Hunger. Reconciliation ministry hosts discussions and participates in Pride Visalia, while an annual July Adventure Camp welcomes children entering kindergarten through sixth grade for Bible stories, crafts, games, and worship. The congregation also offers gifts-and-talents matching for volunteers. Its public pages do not explain English-service length, Communion schedule or eligibility, attire, parking, accessible entrances, hearing assistance, nursery check-in and screening, or whether the Lahu service is streamed.
