About this church
The Danish Lutheran Church and Cultural Center in Yorba Linda worships Sunday at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary and online through Facebook and its website. Its style pairs traditional worship with a contemporary message, and attendance does not require membership. The church offers Baptism, Confirmation, weddings, and memorial services to members and people who feel connected to the congregation. Confirmation classes ordinarily serve adolescents ages twelve through sixteen from November through April. Children's annual calendar follows Danish and Christian seasons through Fastelavn, Easter activities, summer camp, harvest worship, a Mount Baldy hike, Lucia rehearsal, and Christmas celebrations.
The congregation's motto, drawn from N. F. S. Grundtvig, is “Human first, then Christian.” Its mission joins Gospel preaching and sacraments with Danish joy, acceptance, food, community, and an open table. The center also acts as a cultural bridge, linking people with Danish organizations and consular information. Local partners and facility users include recovery meetings, scouts, screening services, voting activity, and homelessness intervention. Newcomers can attend the single Sunday hour in person or remotely, whether or not they have Danish heritage. Families interested in confirmation or seasonal children's events should consult the dated calendar, since those programs do not operate as one weekly Sunday class. People seeking a sacrament or pastoral help can contact the pastor without first enrolling as members.
