Father Dyer United Methodist Church

About this church

Father Dyer United Methodist Church is a Breckenridge congregation shaped by mountain-town hospitality, Methodist worship, and service near and far. The church invites people to come as they are and treats casual clothing as normal. Its outreach reaches local Summit County needs as well as national and international partners, giving the congregation a practical service identity alongside weekly prayer, music, Scripture, and preaching.

Sunday worship runs from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. and is livestreamed on Facebook. The service includes music, prayer, Bible readings, and a spoken message; Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month. Kids Time for preschool through fifth grade takes place during worship, and nursery care is available for younger children. Families may also keep children in the sanctuary, where movement and noise are welcomed rather than treated as disruptions. Visitors can therefore plan for a single one-hour gathering without needing formal clothing or prior familiarity with Methodist liturgy. The historic church’s official pages also connect its present ministry with Father John Lewis Dyer’s Colorado legacy, while the outreach page shows how the congregation serves beyond a resort-town Sunday service.
