Christ Episcopal Church

About this church

Christ Episcopal Church is a lively Cañon City congregation worshiping in a historic church and welcoming people across age, income, sexual orientation, and church experience. Episcopal liturgy, Holy Communion, prayer, study, fellowship, pastoral care, and online resources shape its common life. The parish traces its first service to 1876 and has worshiped in its present building since 1902.

Sunday worship begins at 10:00 a.m. Mountain Time in person and by livestream on Facebook, with an edited recording later posted to Facebook and YouTube. The service includes Holy Communion, and the church can arrange consecrated elements for online participants who contact the parish in advance. Visitors are invited to come as they are rather than adopt a formal dress standard. Online worshipers are encouraged to use the Sunday bulletin and prepare a prayerful space at home. Special litanies and dated services on the site supplement the regular Sunday Eucharist rather than replacing it unless announced. First-time in-person guests should use the Harrison Avenue location, while remote participants should distinguish the live Facebook service from the later edited recording.
