Good Shepherd Catholic Church

About this church

Good Shepherd Catholic Church is an Archdiocese of Denver parish in the Congress Park neighborhood. Weekend Mass is celebrated Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.; the Sunday evening liturgy features a contemporary band. Daily Mass begins at 7 a.m. Monday through Saturday. Reconciliation is offered Tuesday through Friday from 6:30 to 6:50 a.m., Saturday at 7:30 a.m. and 3 to 3:45 p.m., and Sunday at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday’s Evening of Mercy combines Adoration and Confessions at 6:30 p.m. The church is normally open daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The parish brings together young adults, couples, families, and households with four generations of local roots. It traces more than 120 years of Catholic life through former sister parishes St. John the Evangelist and St. Philomena, which merged as Good Shepherd in 1981. A parish school and faith-formation program support children and families. Liturgical participation includes altar servers, lectors, Communion ministers, homebound ministry, ushers, greeters, choirs, cantors, and seasonal decorating. The mission centers on encountering and knowing Jesus through the Gospel, formation in Christ, service to poor and marginalized neighbors, and inviting others into relationship with God. Public pages do not specify Mass length, dress, parking, accessibility, nursery care, child check-in, volunteer screening, or the exact Mass carried on its YouTube channel.
