First Presbyterian Church

About this church

First Presbyterian Church of Pueblo worships Sundays at 10:00 a.m. in its downtown sanctuary. The congregation describes the service through uplifting music, biblical messages, and prayer, with a history in the city center dating to 1870. Music ministries include vocal and handbell ensembles; the bell choir normally rehearses Wednesdays at 5:00 p.m. from September through May. Visitors can review the worship offerings and calendar for Communion, seasonal services, and musical events.

Its mission is to embody the hospitality, healing, and hope of Jesus in the heart of the city. A particularly distinctive ministry is Access Worship, a monthly intergenerational and ecumenical community designed with people with autism, cognitive disabilities, mobility challenges, and their families. Pastors, parents, and specialists shaped it around inclusive leadership, manageable music, participatory teaching, fellowship, and encouragement. The church also hosts nonprofit partners, family ministry, youth group, Stephen Ministry care, and community programs. People who have found conventional church environments overwhelming may want to contact Access Worship before attending, while the 10:00 service remains the congregation's stable weekly gathering.
