First Baptist Church of Gray Gables

About this church

First Baptist Church of Gray Gables is a Callahan congregation established in 1957 and organized around worship, growth, and service. The church cooperates with the Southern Baptist Convention and subscribes to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. Its ministry emphasizes biblical authority, expository preaching, personal disciple-making, mutual care through Scripture, and pastor-led, deacon-served congregational life. Sunday Grow Classes for all ages begin at 9 a.m., followed by worship at 10:15; Wednesday Grow Classes meet at 6:30 p.m.

Sunday worship includes congregational singing, prayer, giving, fellowship, and passage-by-passage preaching. Nursery serves infants, preschool worship covers ages two and three, and children age four through second grade may join Kids Worship after starting with the congregation; the last Sunday monthly is Family Sunday. Kids of any age may remain in the service, and a church notebook helps them participate. Dress ranges from jeans to suits, with business casual common. Wednesday begins with supper at 5:30 on the first Wednesday, followed by nursery, SPROUTS through fifth grade, youth for grades six through twelve, and adult study. Mission partners address addiction and homelessness, church planting, theological education, and international pastoral training.
