The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Davenport, Florida

About this church

Davenport, Florida has one meetinghouse of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, at 1001 Dunson Rd. The nearest other one the directory lists is in Haines City, about eleven miles away. Entrance, parking, restroom, and seating are all wheelchair accessible in the building.

Lake Wilson Ward meets at 9 a.m., the Spanish-speaking Four Corners Branch at 11 a.m., Davenport Ward at 12:15 p.m., and Citrus Ridge Ward at 1:45 p.m. Each two-hour block opens with sacrament meeting, hymns, prayers, the sacrament of bread and water, and talks from congregation members, then moves into a second hour of classes, with Primary for children. Admission is free and no offering plate circulates. Attendance in the area tends to be heaviest around noon. Because these congregations are organized geographically and their schedules can shift from year to year, a quick call before a first visit is a sensible idea.
