Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church

About this church

Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church is a DeLand ELCA congregation that has shared Christ’s love through hospitality, service, and worship for more than sixty years. Located near DeLand High School and Stetson University, it combines Lutheran tradition with modern forms and welcomes people who come from non-ELCA backgrounds. Sunday worship follows Gathering, Word, Meal, and Sending, celebrates Holy Communion every week, and remembers Baptism. Children receive a youth sermon at the altar before leaving for a leader-guided activity.

Sunday worship begins at 9:30 a.m. in person and by livestream, which remains available afterward for on-demand viewing. Packaged, disposable Communion elements are available for self-administration, while the congregation gathers around Word and Sacrament as one body. Prayer is offered confidentially after each Sunday service, with a prayer chain available for people who consent to wider sharing. Community service includes hosting a monthly dinner for The Bridge, an organization providing emergency help and meals to people experiencing homelessness, on the second Tuesday. The ministry page does not state that dinner’s hour, so volunteers and guests should confirm it rather than assuming the Sunday schedule applies.
