Sacred Heart Catholic Church

About this church

Sacred Heart Catholic Church is a Fleming Island parish that marked its 150th anniversary in 2024. English Mass is celebrated Sunday at 8 and 10:30 a.m., Monday through Friday at 8 a.m., and Saturday at 5:30 p.m. The 8 a.m. Mass Sunday through Friday streams on Facebook. Saturday confession in Fleming Island runs 4:30–5:15 p.m. The parish also publishes a Spanish confession at 7 p.m. and Spanish Mass at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, but both are specifically marked for Green Cove Springs rather than the Highway 17 church; visitors should confirm that separate address before traveling.

Additional devotional rhythms include the Divine Mercy Chaplet Tuesday at 8:30 a.m., Rosary Thursday at 8:30, first-Friday Adoration from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and third-Friday Adoration from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sacred Heart describes its mission through sacraments, education, and parish service. Religious education serves kindergarten through twelfth grade from August through May, with separate sacramental classes, retreats, and parent meetings. Catechists receive diocesan certification; all adults volunteering with children complete background checks and Protecting God's Children training. Youth ministry includes a Wednesday-evening program, mentoring, prayer, service, leadership, hospitality, and consent and medical-release procedures. OCIA serves people considering Catholicism, while GriefShare, liturgical, Hispanic, pastoral, social-service, and stewardship ministries broaden parish care.
