Antioch Baptist Church

About this church

Antioch Baptist Church in Gainesville offers early worship at 8:15 a.m., Sunday school at 9:45, and late worship at 11. It identifies as Reformed Baptist and centers services on expositional preaching of Scripture. The congregation follows the regulative principle of worship—the conviction that Scripture directs how the church worships—and describes the Bible as without error and sufficient for life. Children remain with their families in the services rather than attending a separate children's church, a defining practical detail for parents considering a visit.

Family-integrated discipleship shapes more than seating. Antioch teaches that parents, especially fathers, carry primary responsibility for discipling children and seeks to strengthen marriages and multigenerational faith. Elders oversee worship, ministries, direction, and member care, while deacons attend to physical needs with particular consideration for widows. The pastor has served Antioch since 2008 and emphasizes prayer, expository preaching, mentoring young men, and family discipleship; other leaders bring experience in missions, military service, business, music, and international-student hospitality. A newcomer should expect a conservative doctrinal setting and plan for children to participate through the entire service, with Sunday school between the two worship hours.
