Christ Church

About this church

Christ Church of Longboat Key is a Presbyterian Church (USA) congregation at 6400 Gulf of Mexico Drive. Sunday worship begins at 10 a.m. Eastern in the sanctuary and by livestream. The service is traditional, designed to be easy to follow, and open to people in either casual or dressier clothing. The congregation describes itself as friendly and committed to celebrating God's love through worship, music, study, fellowship, and mission. Its purpose, “Growing in Jesus' Name,” reflects both spiritual formation and active care for the surrounding community.

The church began in 2005 with home gatherings, moved through a park pavilion and an office facility, and entered its present worship and education building in 2011. Longboat Key's seasonal population shapes the congregation: some affiliate members participate for several months while retaining membership in northern churches. Mission partnerships are unusually visible and include hunger relief, farmworker support, housing and services for people experiencing homelessness, mobility equipment, and therapeutic programs for children and adults with disabilities. Visitors can review a current order of worship and watch remotely before coming, making this an accessible option for someone seeking a traditional Presbyterian service with extensive local and global service ties.
