About this church

Church of the Ascension is an Anglican and Episcopal congregation in Orlando combining historic liturgy, biblical teaching, music, healing prayer, children’s formation, and compassionate service. Both Sunday services use Rite II Eucharist from the Book of Common Prayer. The early service draws mainly from The Hymnal 1982, while the later gathering blends hymns with worldwide renewal music led by choirs, organ, keyboards, strings, winds, and percussion. The church aims to nurture all ages and share the gospel beyond its walls.

Sunday worship begins at 8:15 a.m. in person and online and at 10:45 in person. Nursery care is available at both services; programming for age three through grade twelve is presently offered during the 10:45 gathering. First-time families should allow an extra ten minutes for secure check-in at the desk beyond the fountains, opposite the sanctuary entrance. A healing service meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in person and online. The early-service Chorale sings monthly from September through May, while Voices of Ascension leads at 10:45 from August through May and rehearses Wednesday at 7:00. Both Sunday services follow the same Eucharistic framework, so visitors can choose primarily by time, music style, and children’s programming.
