First Baptist Church of Wewahitchka

About this church

First Baptist Church of Wewahitchka begins Sunday School and small groups at 9:30 a.m., followed by morning worship at 10:45. Worship blends contemporary and traditional elements, and preaching is expository and Gospel-centered. The Sunday service is also carried on Facebook Live. The church describes its shared life through praying, worshiping, growing, and serving together, giving a newcomer a clearer sense of its priorities than a generic denominational label alone.

During the school year, children age four through fifth grade meet Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:10 p.m. for dinner, games, Bible study, singing, and occasional crafts; food is served only until 5:50. Students can join Sunday groups at 9:30 and Wednesday gatherings that include worship, catechism, prayer, discussion, and gender-specific groups for young women and men ages twelve through seventeen. Community service includes a bus ministry and Operation Christmas Child: the church packs shoeboxes three times each year and serves as an area collection site during National Collection Week. The church is at 436 Highway 71 South. Families should use the calendar for school-year start dates and field trips, which require signed permission forms.
