Philadelphia Baptist Church

About this church

Philadelphia Baptist Church in Calhoun is an Independent Baptist congregation on Hensley Road SE. Sundays begin with Sunday School at 10 a.m., followed by the morning worship service at 11 a.m. and an evening service at 6 p.m. The church describes its preaching as strong and doctrinally firm, and its statement of beliefs says the King James Version is the only English Bible translation it uses. A midweek service is held on Wednesdays at 7:15 p.m.

During the Wednesday service, Master Club meets for children ages 3 to 12 and a group called Up Look meets for teenagers. The church calendar includes youth meetings and field days, summer teen and junior camps, Vacation Bible School, a ladies' gathering, a missions conference, a fall festival and a Christmas cantata. The congregation supports a long list of missionaries and ministries in the United States and abroad. It also operates Philadelphia Christian School and North Georgia Baptist College as ministries of the church. Services are streamed live and archived on the church's YouTube channel, and online giving is available through the website.
