Mt. Gilead Baptist Church

About this church

Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Griffin begins Sunday School at 9:30 a.m., offers meet-and-greet coffee at 10:30, and worships at 10:45. Wednesday Team Kids, youth, and adult Bible studies start at 6:30 p.m. Worship mixes contemporary songs and praise choruses with classic hymns, aiming for congregational participation rather than spectatorship. Children in pre-K through fifth grade remain for the music and then leave for Kids' Church. Sermons normally run 35 to 45 minutes, use multiple Scripture passages, and approach topics through a Christ-centered biblical lens. Clothing ranges from casual to formal, with visitors encouraged to come comfortably.

Nursery and child care during worship serves ages six weeks through four years; Kids' Church is for kindergarten through third grade. First-time families receive electronic or paper check-in help, parents are contacted by text when needed, and classroom workers complete background checks and training. Student ministry serves seventh grade through age nineteen on Sunday and Wednesday, alongside young-adult, senior-adult, women’s, men’s, small-group, and Hispanic ministries. Iglesia Primera Bautista includes singing, prayer, preaching, children’s activity, and outreach in a multilingual community. The site does not publish total service length, parking directions, accessibility, hearing support, livestream timing, or Communion frequency.
