The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Rome

About this church

Rome, Georgia's meetinghouse of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sits at 3300 Garden Lakes Pkwy NW, the only one the directory lists for the city; the nearest other building is in Cedartown, about 17.3 miles away. Accessible features include the entrance, parking lot, restroom and seating.

The Rome Ward holds sacrament meeting each Sunday at 10 a.m., about an hour of hymns, prayers, the sacrament of bread and water, and talks from members of the congregation, followed by a second hour of classes that includes Primary for children. No one is charged to attend, and no collection plate makes the rounds. Meetinghouses like this one typically include a chapel, classrooms and a cultural hall used for other purposes. Given the distance to the next meetinghouse, and since schedules are set locally, a quick call ahead of a first visit is worth making.
