Waynesboro First Methodist Church

About this church

Waynesboro First Methodist Church, a congregation of the Global Methodist Church, meets at 802 North Liberty Street in Waynesboro. Sunday school begins at 10 a.m., followed by the worship service at 11 a.m.; confirm current times on the website. The Chancel Choir helps lead worship each Sunday with a range of music, and younger children can attend Children's Church after the children's sermon, where Bible stories for ages 3 to 7 come with crafts and games. Worship services are posted to the church's video library and YouTube channel.

Sunday evenings at 6 p.m. bring programs for children, youth and adults, including TeamKID for ages 4 through sixth grade during the school year. Wednesday nights start with a 5:15 p.m. dinner, which has a small per-person cost and requires registration by noon Tuesday, followed around 6 p.m. by children's Bible study, youth gatherings, Moms in Prayer groups and adult programs, with choir rehearsal at 7 p.m. Children's Sunday school classes meet upstairs above the sanctuary, and trained staff care for children during activities. Women can join a monthly Saturday breakfast and circle groups, men take part in a Unity Breakfast that rotates among local churches, and the Sassy Seniors group for adults 55 and older meets monthly. A missions committee supports local projects and missionaries in the Dominican Republic, and the church also has a preschool ministry.
