The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Jerome

About this church

Jerome, Idaho has one meetinghouse of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the directory, at 50 E 100 S, with the nearest other building in Twin Falls, about eight and a half miles away.

Four wards use the chapel on Sundays: Jerome 7th Ward at 9 a.m., Jerome 12th Ward at 10:30 a.m., Jerome 2nd Ward at 12 p.m., and Jerome 5th Ward at 1:30 p.m. Since congregations are assigned by neighborhood, several sharing one building across the day like this is typical. Every block opens with an hour of sacrament meeting, hymns, prayers, the sacrament of bread and water, and talks from members of the ward, before a second hour of classes, with Primary set aside for children. A visitor is not expected to bring or give anything; no collection plate is passed. Dress can be formal or simple, and both are common. The building stays open from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sundays. Because these times are managed locally and can change from year to year, a quick call before a first visit is worth the effort.
