Congregational Church of Batavia

About this church

The Congregational Church of Batavia worships Sundays at 10:00 a.m. in person and by livestream, with recordings available afterward. Services blend traditional and contemporary music with prayer and song. AudioFetch lets people hear the sanctuary sound through compatible hearing aids or Bluetooth headphones. The church identifies as open and affirming within the United Church of Christ, welcoming all people into worship, fellowship, education, and service.

Children’s and youth formation is experiential and conversational rather than built around memorization or graded answers. Participants explore what they believe, how faith relates to life, and how community can support a lasting spiritual practice. Local service includes support for the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry and special mission offerings. The church’s stated purpose is to glorify God, apply Scripture, and carry Christ’s love into the world. For visitors, the practical strengths are a single shared service, several ways to hear it onsite or remotely, an explicit inclusive identity, and learning programs that invite questions rather than requiring polished answers.
