First Congregational United Church of Christ

About this church

First Congregational United Church of Christ is a Des Plaines congregation whose vision joins worship and fellowship with compassionate service, meaningful relationships, kindness, and hope for neighbors. Its faith statement allows people to understand belief without being required to accept one prescribed doctrine or confession. Youth, music, outreach, and partnerships such as support for Chicago’s Night Ministry give the church a community-facing identity beyond its Sunday gathering.

In-person worship begins Sunday at 9:00 a.m. and is streamed live, with the online feed scheduled to open around 8:55. Fellowship follows the service. Pilgrim Fellowship youth ministry is divided into a junior group for grades five through eight and a senior high group; activities range from service and local outreach to drop-ins, retreats, and summer mission trips. The official homepage currently displays dated 2026 service information, while its worship archive helps visitors review prior gatherings. People comparing similarly named churches should look for the United Church of Christ identity and the Graceland Avenue address. The corrected public name below reflects the congregation’s own branding more precisely than the shortened directory label.
