Union Church of Hinsdale

About this church

Union Church of Hinsdale offers a short family chapel service at 9 a.m. Sunday and its principal worship service at 10 at 137 South Garfield Avenue. Family Chapel lasts approximately twenty-five to thirty minutes and is designed for households seeking a concise, child-friendly gathering. The 10 a.m. service is available both in person and online. Nursery care for infants through age two is published from 9:45 to 11, while Sunday learning for children begins at 10 with age-based rooms. Households using the age-based rooms should leave time for check-in and ask when children participate with adults.

Union calls itself a church for “anybody and everybody” and also describes its character as a thinking church, encouraging questions, learning, and an engaged faith. Worship, education, youth ministry, groups, music, and pastoral care provide ways to connect beyond a single Sunday. The congregation's public life includes social-justice and service work in the western suburbs as well as a long relationship with ministry partners in Guatemala. Its beliefs page presents a Christian community that values Scripture, the life of Jesus, and room for thoughtful exploration. First-time visitors with young children may prefer the 9 a.m. chapel or the fuller 10 a.m. program, while adults can preview the main service online. Nursery and class calendars follow the program year, so confirm age-specific details around holidays and summer.
