Lombard Mennonite Church

About this church

Lombard Mennonite Church gathers for Sunday worship at 10:00 a.m., with nursery care through approximately 11:15. Children older than three generally remain in the service, and the congregation welcomes clothing ranging from casual to business casual. Accessibility details are unusually specific: the building has a ramp and elevator, a wheelchair available to borrow, assisted-listening devices, and large-print worship materials. On the fourth Friday of each month, a Taizé service at 7:00 p.m. provides a quieter pattern of prayer, silence, and song alongside the regular Sunday gathering.

The church belongs to Mennonite Church USA and identifies with the historic peace-church tradition, emphasizing community, simple living, Jesus' teaching on peace, and creative nonviolence. A ministry team combines pastors with lay leaders responsible for Christian formation, community life, mission, and worship, making leadership responsibilities visible to the congregation. Recent bulletins and sermons let newcomers sample worship in advance. For people comparing churches in Lombard, this congregation offers an uncommon combination of all-ages Sunday worship, detailed physical accessibility, monthly contemplative prayer, and an Anabaptist identity centered on shared community and practical peacemaking.
