Concordia Lutheran Church

About this church

At 9:30 a.m. each Sunday, Concordia Lutheran Church gathers at 7424 North Second Street in Machesney Park. Visitors may enter through the south glass doors or the main east sanctuary entrance and use any available parking space. The service follows a Lutheran pattern of confession and forgiveness, Scripture, hymns and songs, prayer, and the gifts of Word and Sacrament. Concordia describes its teaching as Christ-centered and biblical while making room for questions and relationships, giving newcomers a clearer expectation than a bare service-time listing.

The congregation shares its campus and identity with Concordia Lutheran School, creating a church-and-school community that serves households during the week as well as on Sunday. Published ministries include prayer, quilting, fellowship, education, practical service, and opportunities connected with worship and school life. Its beliefs affirm the Trinity, the inspiration and authority of Scripture, salvation by grace through Christ, and Baptism and the Lord's Supper. The church's online resources page still contains unfinished placeholder text, so visitors should rely on the current welcome, beliefs, and ministry pages rather than assuming every listed resource is active. Sunday at 9:30 is the dependable entry point. Families interested in the school should contact its staff separately for enrollment and classroom information, while people seeking a particular Bible class, quilting meeting, or volunteer role should verify its date with the church office because those recurring hours are not fully published.
