St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church

About this church

St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Moline publishes Sunday Mass in English at 8:30 a.m. and Spanish at 10 a.m., noon, and 6:30 p.m. Spanish weekday Mass is listed Monday through Friday at 8:30 a.m., with an additional Wednesday liturgy at 6:30 p.m. The first Saturday of each month adds an 8:30 a.m. Latin Mass. Confession is available Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Adoration runs Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the church and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Marian Center chapel; first-Friday observance includes a 6:30 p.m. Spanish Mass and overnight Adoration.

The bilingual parish describes its mission as loving Christ and loving others through welcome, love, and service. Its sacramental pages place the Eucharist at the center of Catholic life, while parish movements provide distinct smaller communities. Published examples include Charismatic Renewal on Friday evening in the school gym, Legion of Mary on Monday in the Marian Center, and the Neocatechumenal Way's midweek Word liturgy and Saturday Eucharist. The parish also points households to Seton elementary and middle schools and Alleman Catholic High School. An English-speaking visitor has one clearly listed Sunday hour, while Spanish-speaking households have three. Anyone planning Confession, Adoration, a first-Friday vigil, or a movement should verify the current weekly notice because these schedules are more specialized than the recurring Sunday Masses.
