Boulevard Presbyterian Church

About this church

Boulevard Presbyterian Church worships Sundays from 9:30 to about 10:45 a.m., with Zoom access opening roughly ten minutes before the service. Its order and music draw from gospel, hymns, folk, prayer, confession, assurance, Scripture, preaching, and sacrament. Communion is open to baptized Christians who profess faith in Christ, and children can take a communicants class to learn about the sacrament. People usually dress casually. Ample street parking is available, and the church is a short walk from the Oak Park Blue Line and Roosevelt bus.

This Presbyterian Church in America congregation seeks the renewal of Oak Park, Austin, and other communities through Christ's grace, hospitality, neighborhood partnership, discipleship, and love of God and neighbor. Boulevard grew from church-planting prayer begun at Covenant Presbyterian in 2006. About 25 adults and nearly as many children started planning an Oak Park–Austin church in 2016; weekly worship launched September 24, 2017, and the congregation first used its current building on Palm Sunday 2021. Staff roles include worship and music, children's ministry, community groups, and spiritual formation. The site does not specify nursery care, children’s check-in and worker safeguards, step-free entry, hearing assistance, livestream replay, baptism preparation, or whether Communion is served every week.
