Davis Memorial Church

About this church

Davis Memorial Christian Church in Taylorville worships Sundays at 9:00 a.m., followed by adult Sunday School at 10:15 a.m. The congregation is part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and traces its history to 1852. Worship follows a generally traditional format while blending contemporary and traditional music, and the church makes clear that there is no dress code: visitors may see jeans alongside slacks and dresses.

The church has served Taylorville through worship, Sunday School, Bible study, men’s and women’s groups, and outreach ministries. Its preschool has operated for more than 35 years and meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to noon during the school year, following the public-school calendar. That schedule is distinct from Sunday church programming and should be treated as an enrolled weekday program. A first-time worshiper should arrive before 9:00, expect a relaxed dress range, and stay for adult formation if desired. Preschool families should use the registration information and verify school-calendar closures separately.
